CESSNA CITATION X
Description of the vehicle
Fast and comfortable, the <strong>Cessna Citation X</strong> stands as one of the most competitive contenders against the <strong>Learjet </strong> <strong>60</strong>, <strong>Falcon </strong> <strong>20-5</strong>, <strong>Hawker </strong> <strong>850 </strong> <strong>XP</strong>, and <strong>Challenger </strong> <strong>600 </strong> & <strong>601</strong>.
The Cessna Citation X is a medium to long-range business jet, marking the launch of the all-new 750 series. The Citation X was announced at the NBAA convention in October 1990, and the first prototype flew in December 1993. Its first delivery was in July 1996 to golfer and loyal Cessna customer Arnold Palmer. A total of 315 Citation X aircraft were manufactured, with 309 currently in service worldwide. An updated version called the New Citation X+ was launched in 2010 with improved engines and advanced avionics. Deliveries of the new Citation X+ began in 2013, and there are currently 27 in the world.
The Cessna Citation X is a large business jet manufactured by Cessna. It is powered by two Rolls Royce AE 3007C1 engines, with an hourly fuel consumption of 336 gallons. Capable of reaching a cruising speed of 525 knots, the Cessna Citation X can fly non-stop up to 3140 nautical miles. The aircraft can carry up to 8 passengers, and its charter price is estimated at $6,000 per hour, with a new list price of $23 million at the time of manufacture.
With a speed capable of reaching 1100 km/h, it stands as one of the fastest jets available on the market.
The Cessna Citation X offers an excellent balance between cost, performance, and luxury. It features a dual flight management system and is standard equipped with a Honeywell GPS. In 2004, Cessna announced the Enhanced Vision System: a useful tool that uses infrared sensors to create a visual for the pilot during IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) flights, for example, in snowstorms or rain.
It also stands out for its flight comfort, equipped with a kitchen, ample space, and premium seats, this jet allows up to 8 people to travel in optimal comfort.
